2018 Block Party

All smiles as adults and children enjoy the block party.

Mother Nature complied and the 2018 Block Party was a big success!  Cirrus house staff and members spent many hours preparing to provide a quality event for the community.  Members and staff spent time putting together outdoor tent shelters and pulling out tables and chairs.  Meanwhile many people helped out in the kitchen preparing the food that would be sold at the Block Party.  Prizes were also prepared for the raffle that would happen at the end of the block party.

Once the party kicked off the Cirrus House parking lot was full of local businesses explaining the services they offered in the community.  There were smiles and brochures to go around as questions were asked by local residents and answered by professionals in the community. Some residents were asking to help a friend; others were asking on behalf of a family member or loved one. You can be assured that people walked away feeling hopeful and encouraged that there was help right here in our community.

Tents, food and fun at the Block Party.

There was the smell of BBQ chicken in the air as people filed through to pick up their plate of food.  People were also purchasing raffle tickets in this line for the upcoming drawing.  Following the lunch plate being served the block party morphed into a small carnival with a live musician.  There was cotton candy and the smell of free pizza in the air.  Children were scurrying around playing the penny carnival games and jumping in the bouncy house. The professional booths were still up and going as people continued to get free information and resources.

The sun started to set and the crowd started to die down after a very eventful busy day.  All in all the turnout was good and the party was success for the Cirrus House and the community.

We hope to see you all next year!
